Anti-aging Potions Network Update: To Begin
October 2006
Next Introductory call
is August 24th at 5 pacific, 6 mountain, 7 central and 8 p.m.
eastern
(UPI) July 14, 2006. On Monday, July
10,2006 twenty women from all across America, selected by a sort of
synchronistic lightning, were the first to be privy to a ground-breaking
new society: The Nine Anti-aging Potions (and a Spot Remover).
Laughter, enthusiasm, and transcendence from a mundane mediocre of
mortal-muddle. Secrets to staying young through the activation of creative
attitude, wit and action along with the foundation of a fun and supportive
community open to quirky, intelligent, witty and creativity-loving,
mid-life* women was reported by the same Muse Channeler to transcribe the
upgrade of the nine Greek Muses to the nine Modern Day Muses (and a
Bodyguard). Jill Badonsky finally fixed her mental cable-network and is
once again channeling the Muses, holders of the keys to creative
brilliance. This time the Muses have cooked up a blend of metaphorical
potions to entertain and liberate willing mortals from perceived
limitations of growing older or being stuck creatively. You are invited to
join this community and start the habits, attitudes and practices to
prepare for the notion "the best is yet to be!" This notion
is potion.

JB: The third Anti-aging Potion: Creativity: Shared and
Experienced
This revelation births a new
support community called the Secret Society of Anti-agers
(SSA). A membership into the network includes but is not limited to the
abundant following: 1. a thorough explanation and application of monthly
Anti-aging Potions; 2. a monthly teleconference with JB filled with an
exchange of ideas, exercises and guided imageries to take potion notions
deep; 3. a weekly Anti-aging Secret Message in a Bottle Museletter filled
with tips to adopt the month's potion, fortifying quotes, art clips and
soul vitamins; support, communication and the inspiration of tribe
members; 4. creativity prompts, profiles; original wit; group projects
such as an altered book exchange and 5. creative contributions and fund
raising for groups in need; 5. guidance to create a personal visual
journal for creative youthful realignment, and 6. a creativity coaching
program to help women find and focus on their creative passion without
overwhelm, procrastination, fear and self sabotage. Members also receive
a Secret Anit-aging Starter Kit which includes a
Laminated Club Card with Jill Badonsky art, the Network Decoder Ring, a
Spirit Doll to Maintain the Spirit of the Kid, a Cigar box for decorating
for the Muse Song Ritual, a piece of nostalgic candy, Anti-aging Potion
Notion cards, Anti-aging Potion lotions, wind-up clapping teeth, stickers
for child-like reward system and of course, bubbles. Badonsky would not reveal to us all of
the Anti-aging Potions that she shared on that call, but she did allude to
two of them (a third one is the illustration you see there). She also gave
a little information about the "Spot Remover": The first potion is called
"Strength of Spirit" and it power provides prompts,
action tips and support to develop a spirit untouched by the challenges of
growing older, cultivation of an attitude of joy and character sculpting
through exposure to others. Visual journaling, writing prompts, shared
stories, practice with tiny steps toward new thoughts, and guided
imageries celebrate this potion. The other potion she shared is called
"Body Blissmas and a Happy New Rear" and provides members
with support and tips on using creativity, music and a support network to
make a vital and sensual body easier to achieve and maintain.
"The Spot Remover" refers to the elimination of "age
spots" which in this context refer to life intentions that are stained and
soiled by a build up of creative blocks and the constant ringing around
your mind of ruthless, relentless self-criticisms. Those stubborn
stains You try scrubbing them out, You try soaking them out,
Well, the Spot Remover BLASTS THEM OUT. It uses the
most successful Kaizen-Muse creativity block busters to help women work
through issues of negative self talk, low self confidence, overwhelm,
perfectionism, difficulty focusing, procrastination and crankiness with
the ease and pleasure of methods finely-tuned to make creativity easier
and long-lasting. Want to finally FINISH a project? Try the Anti-aging
Spot Remover.
All offerings in this program are geared toward
NOT OVERWHELMING women even more, but instead, simplifying with small
steps and tools that make focusing on passions easier. The fear of giving
up a comfortable routine that is not serving you is addressed through easy
methods that make the shift desirable and easy. The society will begin this October. If
you sign up by August 23rd you will receive a free art poster with Jill's
whimsical drawings and descriptions of all the Anti-aging potions. If you
would like to know more about the potions and the
program The society
will begin in October in order to fill in the juicy content and build the
community
*quirky women from other age groups are also
invited.
All of the Anti-aging Potions will once again be
revealed in another introductory teleconference on ..

Start Where You Are
Ever
notice how dirty your keyboard can get? As an artist and creative person,
mine gets especially dirty (take note of the built in rationalization in
that statement*). I was just cleaning my keyboard (as I'm
getting ready to have people over to the house for a party) and I noticed
how utterly disgusting it looks. Not that anyone will be hurrying in to
look at my keyboard or even my art, but cleaning my keyboard is a way to
rationalize not working on this newsletter (a clever form of
procrastination which, I must admit makes me disrespect myself just a
little less). But getting back to keyboard hygiene, I couldn't help but
notice that certain keys were dirtier than others. I couldn't help but
wonder (notice how I can't help a lot of things.. especially not keeping
the house clean? [but that's because I'm an artist]) but I couldn't help
but think that the dirt on certain keys and functions might show some
revealing pattern. So I thought I'd share some observations I have about
the dirt-patterns on my keyboard, (kind of like reading tea-leaves but
really not even close). The dirtiest letter on the keyboard was the
letter T. The T key would be pressed by my left index finger so … does
that mean that I use T a lot or that my left index finger is dirty a lot?
tttttttttttttttttt Oops, sorry I was cleaning the T key again which on the
keyboard is a capital T but it came out lower case when I was cleaning it.
Even after having just cleaned it, it is once AGAIN the dirtiest key just
within the time I've written this. Actually it's the only dirty key, the
others are still clean. Hmm, suspicious. My left index doesn't appear to
be dirty. How did this happen? I just counted and I used T so far 167
times (oops now it's 170), but because I'm an artist, I don't feel like
doing a comparison with the other letters to determine how many times I've
used them**. I'll just deduce that the T is like a vortex for dirt. Next observation – the Backspace key is also very dirty so I must make a
lot of mistakes. I could have told you that without looking at my
keyboard, in fact if you have been reading my newsletter for awhile you
might think that perhaps that key should be a lot little dirtier. Next, the 9 and 0 key were very dirty.. (or maybe that's because they
are also the ( and ) keys concluding that I seem to use parentheses a lot)
(I think that's accurate) (What does that mean about me?) (Am I stuck
between the smiley faces and frowns of the world? Aren't we all?). I'm
going to go look "parentheses" up in the Wikipedia. I'll be
right back. Okay,
here's the Wikipedia definition: "An explanatory or qualifying word,
clause, or sentence inserted into a passage with which it has not
necessarily any grammatical connexion, and from which it is usually marked
off by round or square brackets, dashes, or
commas." Hey! My
spell check said connexion is not spelled correctly but I cut and paste it
straight from the source so I'm not responsible for THAT mistake -I'm not
touching my backspace key. Anyway based on that definition perhaps I
"explain or qualify" myself a lot. Maybe I'm just a little too
self involved. Now I'm feeling a little down about perhaps being a little
too self involved (but really not that down). Anyway, let me tell you about my mouse.
The left clicker STILL isn't clean. I spent about 45 minutes trying to get
the gunk off of it and went through several layers of art and food
experiences. There was even a glitter layer, a yogurt layer, a blue layer
(my blue period) and a just plain gross layer (actually there were three
of those). It does have a texture to it so at least my finger doesn't
slip around. That's my keyboard analysis. Writing prompt: When procrastinating,
just start writing about the activity you have chosen in lieu of what you
are supposed to be doing. You might meet a deadline or you might simply
amuse yourself. Writers can do this. *** Just start where you
are. *rationalization number one: being an
artist makes it okay to be a little less concerned with being dirty. We
can tolerate messes longer than others and if we can't, we will clean just
to procrastinate getting to our work. **rationalization number two:
Artists can get away with being inconsistent because their rules are a
little looser than non-artist types. *** reality number one: Writers
can defy the procrastination monster if they use clever tactics such as
self-involvement. Thanks for bearing with (me).

Creativity Practice
On July 19
in 1994 Susan Montgomery blew the world's largest bubble gum bubble. It
had a diameter of 23 inches: Write a poem, haiku, news story, how-to,
scientific fiction report or random thought about bubble gum or the world's
largest bubble gum bubble. or continue with this
sentence..
I noticed my feet started to lift off the ground as the bubble got
bigger …
Here's a Haiku by Joe Sebo oh bubble oh
bubble you go high up in the sky with my dentures
Haikus are easy litlle pieces of brilliance to write on hot summer
days. First line 5 syllables, second line 7 syllables and last line which
give a sense of closure or awe, 5 syllables. First write a list of topics
and then watch how you warm up and surprise yourself with each new one.
Here's some topics for Haikus if you get stuck.. a hot day, lemonade, your
keyboard, mid-summer's night dream(that's 5 syllables right there),
clutter, the kitchen floor, what's in your freezer, procrastination. Send
me Haikus you'd like to sharing. The creative process completes itself in
a beautiful way and touches others when you share it. Collage your
haikus on one piece of paper or on a page in your visual journal. Or take
one of them and cut out images that illustrate it. Or make what I call a
Kamikaze collage in 15 minutes and then write a poem or haiku to describe
it.
From reader,Barbara J. Gewirtz (thanks Barbara) "A
Journey to What I Figured Out"
(Inspired by Jill Badonsky's
"The Muse is In" recording at Artella) I'm melting tension, softening my jaw and brow. I
see swirls of
color breathe through my pen. This is the first writing I've done since April 1st. The
underlined phrases are oral writing prompts from Jill. This was a "free
writing" exercise. --------------------------------------------------- It wasn't
supposed to be that way. Life turned out to be a long,
winding
road of gravel shifting beneath my feet. Slowly, my feet could no longer travel and
carry me freely. The other thing that happened
was that I lost my wings -- my magical means to fly with others. I was lost
in a human flock. There were supposed to be clouds to shelter me and cool rains to
refresh
me. But I didn't care because I was
living unaware. I was living on top of gravel and below the clouds, suspended
anonymously. The thing that bothers me the
most was my loss of self-vision. I could only witness the reflections of
others. As for myself, I cast no visible shadow. But what I figured out is a shadow
had cast within me, blinding me to life's precious holdings and to being one
among a flock of creative, living souls -- each with unique
wings. I find it easy to reflect back and
feature myself amid the night stars. They are twinkling and
shining way above the very ground I have tread upon for too
long. What I
figured out is that the glimmer comes from
within. And one last
thing I'd like to say
is I readily rely on new light, each
day's sun, the communal flicker of candle flames, the
gleaming glow of an orange- skied storm to lead me through paths unfolding
ahead of me...my new dawn. ------------------------------------------------------------ © Barbara J.

| Gesture Drawing: Table
Fan
A gesture drawing is different from a
contour drawing in that you do it very fast and the goal is to capture the
energy and pose. You just scribble inside and out to preserve the spirit of
the moment. Take two minutes to capture the energy of a pet or a person's
pose, or something else with energetic possibilities. Great for travel
sketching or waiting at the doctors office.
