The Bear-Days of December
So, continuing with the animal theme (last few animal issues available at http://themuseisin.com/newsletter.html ), the Muses thought December warranted the sometimes growling sometimes huggable quality of the bear. To me, winter holidays emotions are at times un-bear-able and other times embraced with the contentment of a toy teddy.
Let's consider the bear. In creative light ponder: What's your feeling about bears? Did you have a teddybear? What would you name a teddy now? I think I'd name my bear RON. Write about the many meanings of the word bear. Or continue with one of these unfinished sentences and then keep repeating , answering it differently each time OR just go off into a stream of consciousness:
I’d like to bear witness to ..
If a bear was in my closet I'd ..
Sometimes the creative process hibernates. There is a time when we need to let it sleep in a stress-free cave-like state so that subconscious connections have a chance to meet and muster new magnificence. After the winter we can emerge from our caves with a restored passion, the brilliance of new ideas and the desire to climb out on the branches of possibility.
I just bearly had time to write this:
May your halls be decked in earthly delights,
and bears hark heralds of oh holy nights
may your minds dance a boogy with ripe sugar plums
and drummers drum-drumming ba rumpa bump bums
chestnuts roasting on silented nights
and stars - tails long as bright soaring kites
Whos down in Who-ville singing up to the sky
and a sleigh full of reindeers who gracefully fly
silver bells ringing on the sidewalks of cities
and you making up little holiday ditties
like this one. fa la la la la la la la lop
INSPIRE PEACE ON EARTH

CREATIVITY COACHING STUFF
CREATIVITY TIP FOR PERFECTIONISTS:
Here's some self talk to use when you are thinking your work or you is not meeting your (sometimes) unrealistic standards: "It's close enough."
CREATIVITY MANIFESTO FOR 2006
Modify according to YOUR authentic nature --- Copy it, collage around it, dance it, paint it, trust it, do it:
“In the face of adversity, uncertainty and static in my soul's receiver, I hereby pledge to remain ever mindful, ever grateful of the magical, infinite, loving reality I live in. This reality conspires tirelessly in my favor especially when I take tiny steps.. ever so tiny, daily or even weekly down a path directed by my creative intuition.
I further recognize, that living within space and time, as a creation amongst my creations, is the ultimate adventure, because I create my reality with the colors I choose from my palette of thoughts. Dreams come true when I am authentic and courageous, when I say "So what I'll do it ANYWAY" to any obstacle rearing its silly head and so many things, so VERY MANY things remain forever possible. So there!”
subliminal message: it's not too late to buy 10 people Muse books for the Holidays. :) go to http://www.themuseisin.com or www.amazon.com . |

Complete this unfinished sentence:
"The hallway was silent..."
This from Apara Kohls
The hallway was silent...and all through the house not soul was stirring not even the mouse. Now,
does it not seem ridiculous, about the soul/stirring thing? Let's face it, isn't it usually the EMALES "stirring" in the KITCHEN? Ya' know, wooden spoons, cookie dough, tomato soup, etc. Maybe the Soul could be skipping.
That seems more light hearted. Stirring is just too much work. And, then, what about the mouse? What does that say about good housekeeping? NOTHING. Jees, why have a rodent mucking up the Christmas rhyme? So, let's turn on all the lights on in the hallway, march up and down, hoot and holler, and pat ourselves on the back.
